In recent times many approaches for computationally detecting manipulations of digital photographs have been developed. However, these time intensive analyses are out of step with today's rapid-fire online image consumption. Far less emphasis is placed on photographers proactively asserting the authenticity of images. It is time for our online photos to be clearly labelled as real or fake, and open access is a great place to start.
