All levels of education are working to address Canada’s colonial history through the findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Of the 94 Calls to Action, 6 directly relate to education, including the development of historically accurate and culturally responsive teaching materials. In making OER the application of Traditional Knowledge Labels provide alternatives to the 6 Creative Commons licenses. However, there are important cautions that educators need to thoughtfully address toward de-colonizing all levels of curriculum as part of re/conciliatory open pedagogical choices.
