The session is a panel, proposed with the participation of 5 female leaders in the wikimedia mouvement. It will present paths the wikimedia community is exploring to advance gender equity, and how the CC ecosystem impacts and is impacted by those initiatives.
Advancing gender equity means that we seek fair treatment, access, opportunity and advancement for all genders. Wikimedians have observed very early on the existence of gender gaps on Wikipedia, both in terms of content and in term of participation and the last few years have seen emerge numerous initiatives meant to fight the gender gap. What’s the current status ? How can we help ? What to expect in the future ?
