How can we help governments tend to the commons without being the sole gardener? Why should software serving the public be treated like other common goods? How can we promote collaboration in a sector that is deliberately conservative and often slow to change? This session will introduce the Foundation for Public Code's approach to helping public organizations collaborate on and build open, reusable public-purpose software together. This is followed by an interactive session to gather lessons learned on helping public organizations participate in and empower the commons.

Also includes a video presentation: Defining a common[s] denominator for public software
