An understanding of statistics is becoming increasingly important in our world, and as teachers we have an opportunity to develop student competencies in this area. We will introduce participants to the fundamentals of data science, and look at how open data science activities can be integrated into any teaching environment (especially K-12 contexts). We'll look at ways to incorporate data analytics into curricular outcomes, explore available resources, and talk about how students can analyse data with Python in Jupyter notebooks (CC licensed) through the federally-funded Callysto project.
