Creative Commons Virtual Global Summit

Public Domain Day events raise awareness around the need to safeguard access to cultural heritage by ever-increasing copyright protection. It also advocates and encourages creative reuse. Until recently these events were organised independently. Closer cooperation was discussed at the 2019 CC Summit. This year all the events that took place, from Venezuela to Ghana, were gathered on pdday.org. In this session we'll discuss how the new network’s value can go beyond visibility and communication. For example: digitally gather an artist's oeuvre that is spread globally as linked open data.
